Celebrate Thanksgiving With A Touch of Sweetness

Thanksgiving is a thoughtful time of year. Often associated with thankfulness, appreciation, and family, this holiday is a time best shared with loved ones. In less than a week, we will be enjoying this fall holiday once again, likely with a large Thanksgiving dinner.

This year, Anna’s Honey would like to share some ideas about how to make Thanksgiving even more delicious. Our many honey varietals cover a diverse flavor profile, perfect to use on many traditional Thanksgiving foods.

Beginning with the centerpiece of the meal, create a honey glaze to coat a Thanksgiving turkey. Combine equal parts honey and Dijon mustard, then add salt and pepper to create a delicious honey glaze. Cook the turkey on its own in the oven for an hour before coating it with the glaze. Put the bird back in the oven for the remainder of the cooking time.

The finished product should be golden-brown and should taste sweeter and more flavorful. Different honey varietals can offer different flavor to the turkey. For a savory flavor, Anna’s recommends its blackberry honey or fireweed honey varietals. Clover and wildflower honey can also be used to create a sweeter contract between the glaze and the meat.

The glaze should use four to five ounces of honey, which means there is still more to use. Find ways for honey to enhance salad dressings, bread, and appetizers for a sweet touch in every course.

Honey can be used in place of any recipe which calls for sugar. Since honey is sweeter than sugar, using half the amount of honey in place of sugar is a perfect substitute and adds a more complex flavor.

This is especially helpful when making pies for dessert, and can add a more substantial twist to a favorite treat. Alternatively, enjoy a delicious honey pie, where honey is featured as the main ingredient for a luscious end to a Thanksgiving evening.

No matter how Thanksgiving is enjoyed or celebrated, Anna’s Honey hopes you enjoy our gourmet honey varietals. Over the past several years, the people who support us have shown us such wonderful support. During this season of reflection and thankfulness, Anna’s Honey would like to thank all of the people who have enjoyed what we have to offer and we wish you all a happy Thanksgiving.
